Excavation with Midwest Grit

The Ironwood Story

Meet Jake Torola – Founder of Ironwood

Jake Torola is no stranger to hard work. Originally from Zion, Illinois, he grew up fixing things, building structures, and solving problems—wherever they came up. That early hands-on mindset led him into construction during high school, where he found a lasting passion for working with purpose.

Today, Jake brings that same dedication and attention to detail to every job site with Ironwood Site Solutions—ensuring each project is handled with care, precision, and integrity.

A Foundation of Service: Jake’s Story On and Off the Job Site

From 2004 to 2012, Jake served as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, spending over 3.5 years deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Working in both lower enlisted and leadership roles, he learned what it means to lead under pressure, adapt in the toughest conditions, and finish the job—no matter the obstacles.

Jake continues to give back by volunteering with the Purple Heart Project, a nonprofit that supports veterans through woodworking and rehabilitation. Whether in uniform, on a job site, or in the community, Jake’s mission is the same: to build strong foundations—for people, for projects, and for the future.

Proud to Serve Central Minnesota.

Today, Jake brings that same dedication and discipline to every job site across Central Minnesota. Whether it’s digging out a septic system, leveling a lot, or shaping the base for a new concrete patio, he approaches every project with care, precision, and integrity.

Serving Wright, Hennepin, and Carver counties, Jake leads Ironwood Site Solutions with a mission to deliver dependable excavation and site work that stands the test of time—built right, from the ground up.
